Solo art show at the 5.4.7 Arts Center in Greensburg, Kansas

Yesterday, I hung a solo show in Greensburg, Kansas at their art gallery: 5.4.7 Arts Center. The show will hang through mid-March, at which point we'll have a closing reception before I take the paintings down.

Greensburg is an interesting small town. From the 5.4.7 Arts Center's website: "The Center’s name comes from the date on which a Category 5 tornado devastated nearly all of Greensburg on May 4, 2007. After the tornado, the community made the decision to designate art as an essential part of the city’s social and economic redevelopment by choosing to build 5.4.7 Arts Center as its first public building."

From what I understand, the entire town is being rebuilt on green concepts of sustainability, which is a fascinating opportunity to come from such a painful loss. I encourage you to explore these weblinks, as well as the town itself and, of course, their art gallery!

This piece is "Dirty Laundry". 36 x 36 inches, acrylic on stretched canvas.
