Here's the first try I made. Although I first reacted to the piece with a measure of disgust, it grew on me quickly. I could have planned this better, but I do like the execution. It is more exploratory than the second iteration. There is more angle to the legs, which makes her playing the cello more believeable. Her right hand looks positively skeletal, and I think that is fun. Although the lower arm is not well executed, it still is in a more believeable position than with the second iteration, which just looks flat. Obviously I had time to put a background in this one, so that helps the overall composition. (Acrylic on medium drawing paper.)

Cello Player: First Iteration
